I had a recent experience with our Homeowners Insurance where our Mortgage company was paying our premium out of our escrow account. When we decided to change providers, we never contacted the mortgage company and we ended up being double insured for an entire year. Fortunately, we were reimbursed by the one company that we decided to drop. Its important to know whether your mortgage company will take care of the homeowners premium so this doesn't happen to you.
